Be inspired by local stories, the life of novelist George Eliot, and fascinating art at the free, fun and friendly museum located in beautiful parkland. The museum is located in the beautiful grounds of Riversley Park, just a 10-minute walk from Nuneaton town centre and within easy access to car parks.

Temporary Exhibitions

Permanent Exhibitions
Alongside the temporary exhibition programme, the museum has dedicated spaces housing its permanent displays.
George Eliot and The Writing Room
The Museum has a gallery dedicated to local author George Eliot, as well as the Writing Room where you can tell Belle the dog your own story and try the George Eliot board game!
Local History
The Local History Exhibition highlights artefacts linked to the borough’s coal mining industry, as well as items relating to the First and Second World War. Larry Grayson, Nuneaton’s favourite son, is also celebrated in the Local History area, as well as the opportunity to view objects relating to shopping of the area. QR codes link to films and other resources to enrich your visit.
Picture Gallery
The Picture Gallery is situated on the first floor of the museum building. This space focuses on showing some of the Museum’s art collection. Amongst the display are exciting works, such as Savery’s “Before the Deluge” and Prinsep Beadle’s “Battle of Vitoria”.

Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery has plenty going on for kids!
Amongst the displays you will find:

- A George Eliot themed board game
- Children’s Puppet Theatre
Gift Shop and Tea Room
Don't forget a visit to the tea room and gift shop to complete your visit! The gift shop is a treasure trove of small toys, gifts and keepsakes. The tea room is quaint and the perfect spot for a cup of tea and a slice of cake!
Getting there and Parking
Riversley Park is just a 10 minute walk from Nuneaton Town Centre. It is well serviced by bus routes - check out the Transport for West Midlands travel planner for more info.
