My Bloody Valentine: The Science of Hearts, Blood, and Slime

Looking for a STEM activity with a twist? This workshop takes children on a fun and engaging journey through the human circulatory system, exploring how the heart pumps blood, what’s inside our veins, and why circulation is so important.

In this session, children will:

Build a Beating Heart Model – Learn how the heart works by constructing a simple working model.
Blood Transfusion Experiment – Discover the different components of blood and how blood types work in a hands-on activity (no real blood or needles involved).
Make a Slime Model of Blood – Create a gooey, stretchable slime that mimics blood, complete with "red blood cells" and "plasma."

This workshop is perfect for children who love biology, hands-on experiments, and a little bit of science-themed fun.
