Coventry Peace Festival 2024 | Remembrance Sunday in Coventry

  • Dates: 1st to 14th November 2024
  • Schedule of events: View here

Running from 1 to 14 November, the festival shines a spotlight on Coventry's international reputation as a City of Peace and Reconciliation. With a diverse programme of free events and activities, there’s something for everyone – from families to individuals of all ages. Events will take place across Coventry, including the city centre and in local communities.

The festival will feature the Remembrance Sunday Service and Parade at the War Memorial Park on Sunday 10 November at 10:45am. This will be followed by the Communal Grave Service at London Road Cemetery at 3pm.

Other events include the 10,000 Stars for Coventry Workshop where people are invited to make a star for the Coventry Tree and write a peace message, whilst Coventry Welcome Walk will take place on Friday 8 November. Led by EnV volunteers, the informative walk around the city will have a theme around peace and reconciliation.

A highlight of the festival is the annual Poppy Drop, which will be held at 11am on Monday 11 November at West Orchards Shopping Centre. Marking Armistice Day, 4,000 poppies will drop from the centre’s dome during a two-minute silence, paying tribute to those who lost their lives in service.

There are many community, schools and other groups holding events throughout the festival so make sure to visit the website to see the full programme.
